The LAPD is taking action to ensure a copycat attack isn't carried out at YouTube's flagship building in Los Angeles because they've been stationed at the location ever since the shooting at the headquarters began.
The LAPD tells The Blast they have been stationed at the YouTube Space in Playa Vista since the first report that shots were fired in San Bruno. We're told cops will continue to have a "presence" at the location on Wednesday as the normal business day resumes.
As for what prompted the protection, we're told there were no calls placed from YouTube, the LAPD responded on their own after the news broke. They tell us they have not received, or heard of any threats or suspicious persons, and are just taking a precaution.
It's unclear if law enforcement agencies near other YouTube offices or spaces have responded in similar fashion.
