The “Bad Boys” TV spinoff is the target of an investigation by safety officials after an accident tragically resulted in a partial leg amputation.
A representative from the Division of Occupational Safety and Health of California tells The Blast an accident investigation was opened after the incident in San Pedro on February 21 that left showrunner Brandon Sonnier pinned underneath a crate during a stunt gone wrong.
We’re told the focus of the investigation is on “L.A.’s Finest” production company, Mesquite Productions, to “determine the cause of the incident and correct workplace safety violations.”
Cal/OSHA has six months to issue citations and we’re told the inspection process usually takes a few months.
As for Sonnier, he has since returned home from having his foot amputated. A GoFundMe has also been raised to help with medical and living costs, and has received large donations from TV executives.
