Kodak Black has been arrested on a slew of charges including grand theft of a firearm and child neglect, and unfortunately for the rapper, he was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Law enforcement sources tell The Blast cops in Pembroke Pines, FL responded to a domestic dispute at a residence Thursday between a family member of Kodak's and his girlfriend. Kodak is also currently living in the same house with his two-year-old son.
We're told hours after a report was taken over the domestic dispute, a storm of police cars and officers returned and raided the house. Kodak — who was livestreaming for part of the incident — was placed in handcuffs while cops searched the house.
Kodak was ultimately arrested for grand theft of a firearm, possession of over 20 grams of marijuana, two counts of possession of a weapon by a felon, two counts of probation violation and child neglect.
We're told because the child was present in the house with guns and weed during police raid, Kodak was hit with the neglect charge.
According to the affidavit for the search warrant, police they also saw video on Instagram from a few days prior that showed the child near firearms and marijuana and that Kodak "failed to make a reasonable effort" to protect the child from "the immediate danger that a firearm and individuals with narcotics or under the influence of narcotics posed to the child."
Sources close to the "Roll In Peace" rapper tell us the weapons and weed were not his, but belonged to other people who also live in the same house. He just happens to be living at the house, so he was included in the melee when police arrived.
Unfortunately for Kodak, he's also currently serving a one-year house arrest sentence after serving 97 days back in June for another matter. He's also been indicted on sexual misconduct charges in an ongoing case.
