Katy Perry Shut Down in Plea to Keep Her Testimony Sealed in Kesha’s Case

Katy Perry will not be allowed to keep the testimony she gave in Kesha and Dr. Luke’s ongoing legal battle from seeing the light of day.

On November 8, a New York judge ruled the testimony the pop star recently gave is “relevant to several important factual and legal issues,” adding that there is a “legitimate public interest.”

The judge also noted that the other artist’s testimony, like Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine, was not sealed, so Katy should not get special treatment.

As we reported, earlier this month, Dr. Luke filed court documents opposing Perry’s attempt to seal the testimony she gave during a 2017 deposition.

Katy demanded certain portions of her deposition be sealed from being referenced by Luke in future court filings. She argues that excerpts should be sealed because she felt her testimony was irrelevant  to the case and had the potential to damage or cause harm to her career.

Unfortunately, the “Swish Swish” singer did not get what she was seeking, and we will all soon know what she said behind closed doors.
