Kanye West may have changed his tune on needing guidance from advisors because he's now searching for someone to not only handle his revamped Yeezy company, but to be responsible for dealing with the hip-hop star's personal brand and eccentric antics.
According to a recent job posting obtained by The Blast, Ye is searching for an full-time in-house publicist who will be responsible for "All PR matters relating to Yeezy and Kanye West as a public figure."
Yeezy (the company) needing a new PR guru is not all that exciting, but the fact that whomever decides to take on that role must also deal with Kanye's personal publicity is especially daunting.
As we previously reported, Kanye unceremoniously parted ways with many of his closest confidantes during this latest creative kick. The artist had declared that he didn't need anyone to "manage," him, but it's possible the last few weeks of his self-imposed media campaign had become a bit too much to handle solo.
You think you have the chops to bask in the glory of Yeezus? Here's the qualifications:
Minimum 10 years experience in public-relations
Minimum 5 years working in a "top 20" PR agency
Minimum 5 years working in-house for a leading brand
Kanye's also got his sights set on world domination, because he's requiring "Global experience with healthy exposure to Asian and European markets."
The hip-hop star has been holed up in the mountains for the past couple weeks as he puts the finishing touches on some upcoming music, but it's clear that his fashion and apparel company is still top of mind.
The listing doesn't say how much the position pays, but you gotta imagine Kanye won't have a problem paying top dollar for a such an essential position. In just the few days that Yeezy has been looking to fill the position, over 100 people have already applied.
