Kanye West Distancing Himself From Politics: 'I've Been Used to Spread Messages I Don't Believe In'

By TheBlast Staff

We might be getting the old Kanye West back.

After months of controversial political statements and tweets, the rap superstar now says he is taking a break from the politics to focus on doing what he does best.

"My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in," Kanye tweeted on Tuesday. "I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!"

He then revealed that the clothing he designed for his friend Candace Owens' BLEXIT movement, was not actually designed by him.

Kanye tweeted, "I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it."

Following his headline-making trip to the White House, Kanye West donated $73,540.00 to the campaign of Amara Enyia, who is running for mayor in Chicago.
