Kanye West may have to stick to his day job because he won't be heading up an art classroom in Chicago anytime soon.
Late Sunday night, Professor West announced, during a flurry of tweets, that he would be teaching a course at the Art Institute of Chicago and the American Academy of Art.
The Blast spoke with both schools, who appreciated the shout out, but refuted the hip-hop star's statements. The Art Institute of Chicago tells us, "We're flattered that Mr. West would have an interest in teaching emerging artists and designers at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago," but added, "Mr. West is not currently teaching at SAIC, and at this time, there are no plans for him to do so."
As for the American Academy of Art, they flat out said Yeezy's announcement was "incorrect," and there are no plans for him to teach a class.
The statements by Kanye were part of a number of projects he claimed to have in the works for The Windy City, including opening up a Yeezy office and restoring the Southside's Regal Theater.
