Ariana Grande sent the crew for “Saturday Night Live” scrambling for a new musical guest after she canceled with only days before the premiere of their new season, and luckily Kanye West was available to save the show.
The revelation was made on the “Origins” podcast with James Andrew Miller when “SNL” honcho Lorne Michaels came on to dish dirt on the prep that goes into getting the show on the air.
He admitted, “We had Ariana drop out for emotional reasons two days ago. That’s our premiere, and then Kanye stepped up, and he’ll be there.”
On Thursday, Grande dropped several tweets talking about the “tough month” she has endured, including the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.
ur angels in my life. it’s just been a tough month. i’m trying to get my work done and get back to normal and it’s hard and i’m human and tired. sorry i let u in or worried u. i shouldn’t have tweeted. i kno better.

Earlier this week, Grande’s fiancé, and “SNL” star Pete Davidson, appeared on The Howard Stern Show and spoke about his relationship with the pop star, including the death threats he receives from “fans.”
