Jenni "JWoww" Farley's ex-boyfriend was arrested on Wednesday after the "Jersey Shore" star claimed he tried to extort her for $25,000.
According to the Toms River Police Department, JWoww told police Thomas Lippolis wanted the money in exchange for not divulging secrets to the media about her. According to JWoww, Lippolis made the demand through her publicist.
After an investigation, police arrested Lippolis and charged him with third-degree extortion.
In a statement to ET, JWoww said, "I would like to applaud the Toms River Police and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office for their professionalism, expedited response time and unwavering attention to detail that resulted in an immediate arrest after I was the target of a serious crime."
She continued, "I feel fortunate to have the support of law enforcement of this caliber by my side, which has thankfully kept me and my children safe from those who have sought to victimize me."
JWoww was dating Lippolis when she began filming season 1 of "Jersey Shore."
It's been a difficult week for JWoww, who got a restraining order against her husband, Roger Mathews, last week.
The estranged couple recently celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary amid their split but a reconciliation is not in the cards anytime soon.
