Josh Gad is dealing with a heavy load of grief after revealing one of the innocent victim’s that was murdered in the Florida school shooting was a family friend.
Gad, who’s from Florida, said he received a text Wednesday night that “our friend’s son passed away from his gun shot.” He says, “My grief for this family and the many others knows no bounds. I’m so sorry this happened. I’m sorry our leaders are worthless. I’m so sorry we are bound to repeat this again.”
The “Frozen” star, who has two young children of his own, said that he is “broken by the regularity of these events.”
At least 17 people were killed, and more injured, when a 19-year-old man stormed Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
It always hurts. But when it’s your hometown it hurts even more. My heart breaks for every parent, teacher and student affected by today’s events. Schools are supposed to be a place for safety, education and socialization. If they can’t be safe, what can? I’m so broken by the regularity of these events. When will it end? Will it ever?
