John Schneider continues sauntering to victory on "Dancing With the Stars," but his ex-wife is accusing the actor of lying about where his checks are deposited because she hasn't been paid a cent for his time on the show.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, Elvira Schneider says she is supposed to be receiving 50% of her estranged husband's earnings while he is appearing on the ABC competition.
As we reported, Elvira received a wage garnishment order from the court to go after John's checks to help satisfy the over $180,000 he still owes in spousal support. He's already been to jail once over not paying, and sources close to the situation tell us he's at risk of another arrest for continually skirting the payments.
In Elvira's filing, she says it's clear the former "Dukes of Hazard" star has "hypothecated his earnings to that of a third party or a third party entity, and they are not going to his name."
Sources tell us Elvira and her legal team believe John's current girlfriend, Alicia, may be assisting with transferring his earnings around to avoid payments.
Adding on to the mounting spousal support, Elvira has incurred almost $400,000 in legal fees while battling her ex over the missing money.
It's an interesting situation, because should Schneider end up securing the Mirrorball trophy with partner Emma Slater at the end of the show and rack up thousands in prize money, he could still end up swinging straight into the slammer.
