Jessica Simpson is the latest celebrity to learn the hard way — you can't post a photo of yourself that you don't own because the paparazzi will sue you.
According to a lawsuit obtained by The Blast, the paparazzi agency Splash News and Picture Agency (one of the biggest companies in the business) is suing Simpson over a photo she posted to social media last year.
The agency claims Simpson took the image from them without permission, edited out their copyright information, and posted the pic to her Instagram and Twitter accounts. The photo now seems to be deleted from both places.
Splash claims that by sharing the photo with her 11.5 million social media followers, she diminished the value of the photo.
The agency is also suing a reality TV website that also published the photo and credited it to Simpson's Instagram account.
Splash is suing for copyright infringement and is seeking damages in excess of $25,000.
