Jackson Odell was believed to be clean for weeks leading up to his untimely death and even passed a drug test just days before he was found dead from a heroin and cocaine overdose.
According to the autopsy report obtained by The Blast, the house manager of the sober living facility where Odell had been living told police he had been staying there for approximately three weeks. Odell had been in an inpatient program prior to arriving at the sober living facility.
The house manager told investigators that Odell was last tested on June 4 — four days before his death — and his urine test came back clean. Odell's father told officials he believed his son had been clean for five weeks.
According to the report, Odell went to a meeting on June 7 and was seen snoring in his bed at 11:00 PM that night. Odell's body was found in his bed at around 1:30 PM on June 8.
No paraphernalia was found at the scene.
The report notes there was no needle tracks on Odell's body but says there was a "single puncture wound" on his left arm.
Investigators determined that Odell ingested the cocaine and heroin that led to his death.
At the time of his passing, Jackson Odell’s family released a statement saying, “He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul. e had so much more to share. Our family will always carry that truth forward. Our wish is that the rest of the world who knew and loved him does as well.”
Odell played Ari Caldwell on ABC’s “The Goldbergs” and also appeared in two episodes of “Modern Family.”
