Ja Rule Defends Himself Amid Renewed Fyre Festival Backlash: 'I Would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD Anyone'

By TheBlast Staff

With two new streaming documentaries about the disastrous Fyre Festival, rapper Ja Rule is once again defending himself and his role in the event.

"Fyre" and "Fyre Fraud" — from Netflix and Hulu, respectively — both document the 2017 music festival that failed spectacularly. And with Billy McFarland (the festival's organizer) behind bars, many people directed their comments towards Ja ... and he was not pleased.

"I had an amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!! I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make???" Ja wrote.

He then pointed out that McFarland was paid by Hulu to appear in the doc, writing, "@Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should have went to the ppl in the Bahamas... @netflix PAID f--k Jerry who also did all the promo for the festival... ? the docs clearly have Billy at fault but let’s blame the rapper lmao ok."

After a few exchanges with fans, Ja tweeted, "Y’all want it to be me sooo bad it’s crazy... kinda sad!!! the crazy shit is I’m watching the docs in awe myself."

Ja Rule went on to insist he did not make any money from the festival and when one fan asked if he lost money, he replied, "PLENTY."

He also seemed intent on telling his side of the story in full, writing, "I will tell my truth real soon... AND I HAVE RECEIPTS!!!"
