You were probably fast asleep … but the USA won GOLD in curling for the first time ever!
Team skip John Shuster and the rest of the men’s curling team played a stunning game against Sweden that was aired live in the U.S. well past midnight.
Ivanka Trump, who arrived in PyeongChang, South Korea Friday for diplomatic duties during the Olympics, stopped by to witness an amazing shot by Shuster in the 8th to seal the win 10 – 7. Earlier in the day she was at the snowboard big air competition.
Ivanka also brushed up on her curling with one of the provided pamphlets, and was taking tons of pictures with fans during the game.
The medal presentation wasn’t without any drama — after the ceremony, Shuster, Matt Hamilton and the rest of the curlers reportedly realized they were given the medals for “women’s curling.”
At least it’s gold!
The US men's curling team just realized the gold medals they were awarded moments ago say "women's curling gold medal" on them. Their coaches are working on it … #pyeongchang2018 pic.twitter.com/PERIMuXN98
