Today is International Women's Day ... so let's celebrate the achievements and growth of females around the world.
And what better time to cheer on women? This year has been all about females empowering females. We want equality, we are demanding harassment in the workplace end and we are screaming for people to acknowledge us not for our beauty but for our hustle, talent and work ethic.
Since October, we've been exposed to two monumental movements — #MeToo and Time's Up — which have given women the confidence to have a voice in a usually silent environment. Females like Lupita Nyong'o, Allison Janney, Whoopi Goldberg, Chelsea Handler, Miley Cyrus, Charlize Theron and more rushed to the front lines to march alongside their fellow sisters for the women's marches in Los Angeles, New York and Park City, Utah.
Rose McGowan, Ashley Judd, Kate Upton, Uma Thurman and Salma Hayek have exposed men like Harvey Weinstein and Paul Marciano — who've allegedly used their power for manipulative purposes in the workplace — by sharing their own stories of alleged sexual assault.
Just a few months ago, Reese Witherspoon, Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington, Natalie Portman and more called on the entertainment industry to walk the Golden Globes red carpet in all black to show solidarity and support for one another.
There's no better time to be a woman.
We still have a long way to go, but you better believe we'll bulldoze our way there.
Happy International Women's Day from the sisters at The Blast to all our fellow badass females around the world!
