Iggy Azalea Defends Decision to Keep Singing During Backup Dancer’s Seizure

Iggy Azalea is clapping back at harsh critics who scolded her for continuing to perform during a backup dancer’s seizure.

The “Fancy” rapper was performing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil when one of her backup dancers hit the floor and began thriving. The other dancers immediately attended to her while Azalea kept singing.

The dancer was transported to the hospital, and ended up being ok, but some questioned whether Azalea should have responded differently during the medical emergency.

Going to social media, the star explained, “I thought she had just fallen/twisted her ankle,” adding, “And it may sound harsh but; you keep singing until the music stops & ask for a medic which is what I did.”

To be fair, Azalea did call for a medic during the show and then kept performing.

She said, “We are all really shaken up by what happened & just thankful she is okay.” Azalea also asked her fans not to make light of the situation with jokes or memes.

Apparently the criticism did not stop, because later in the night Azalea posted another message claiming she’s “worn down.”

“Sometimes I really feel exhausted by the world, it feels like ANY thing I do becomes an opportunity for people to tell me why I’m shit, why my music sucks, my clothes are ugly, why I don’t matter or Why im a horrible person.”

She said it’s hard to “keep motivated,” and asked, “Could we be a little kinder to each other?”
