Shots Fired Before Ice Cube Concert Ends With Suspect Down (VIDEO)

UPDATE

9/3: Cops say 22-year-old Daniel Elizarraras tried to purchase a ticket to the Ice Cube concert just before 6:40 PM, but the concert was sold out. He got into an argument over the tickets, pulled out a “silver plated semi-automatic handgun” and fired several shots into a crowded area. Deputies engaged and returned fire.

Elizarraras was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive the shooting.  The incident is currently under investigation.


Ice Cube was preparing to take the stage as shots rang out at the Del Mar race track near San Diego on Sunday afternoon.

Video captured by witnesses at the fair grounds captured extremely graphic video of a man in a confrontation with sheriff’s deputies that ended with him being shot multiple times.

During the 10th race, sheriff’s say a man fired a gun near the area where the Ice Cube concert was getting ready to begin. Deputies responded and confronted the suspect, which resulted in him being shot multiple times.

The man was taken to the hospital, and his condition is reportedly unknown. The Ice Cube concert was allowed to go on as scheduled.

Sources at the scene tell The Blast the scene was chaotic, and many fans thought a mass shooting had occurred before realizing it was an isolated incident. Officials at the fairgrounds in Del Mar also alerted guests that the shooting was under control.

During the  broadcast of the races, the announcers began shouting,  “There’s gunfire at the track, there’s gunfire at the track,” before cutting out the audio.
