The fashion world was just dealt an incredible blow: iconic designer Hubert de Givenchy has passed away at the age of 91.
Givenchy's partner confirmed the sad news to AFP news agency saying, "It is with huge sadness that we inform you that Hubert Taffin de Givenchy has died."
The French fashion tour de force is credited for popularizing the classic LBD. He famously designed the iconic black dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's."
Throughout her life, Hepburn frequently worked as the designer's muse and wore his label on the red carpet and in her films.
Givenchy's label has transcended the decades and is still a powerhouse today. "Black Panther" star Chadwick Boseman wore a custom suit by the late designer at The 2018 Academy Awards.
MegaThe knee-length embellished tuxedo jacket landed Boseman and Givenchy on nearly every best-dressed list.
