Hilary Duff Committed Instagram Violation By Publicly Shaming Non-Famous Neighbor

Hilary Duff apparently did more damage than just upsetting her neighbor when she shared his personal information with her millions of fans, because she also made a major Instagram boo-boo.
A rep for Instagram tells The Blast the "Lizzie McGuire" had some of her account's content removed for "violating our policies."
The clause she violated was IG Terms of Service rule #6, which deals with bullying, defaming and harassing.
"You must not defame, stalk, bully, abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate or intimidate people or entities and you must not post private or confidential information via the Service, including, without limitation, your or any other person's credit card information, social security or alternate national identity numbers, non-public phone numbers or non-public email addresses."

It's unclear which exact content was removed from Duff's account, because many of the videos Duff made directed towards her neighbor were posted to her story timeline and would have automatically deleted after 24 hours.
Since posting her neighbor's name and info, the man has been hounded by reporters, paparazzi and even her fans. He is not a celebrity and did not appear to seek out the spotlight, but has now been thrust into the public arena.
However, IG pointing out that Duff did commit an infraction could be firepower for her neighbor as he threatens legal action against her and boyfriend Matthew Koma, who he claims punched him during a confrontation.
