Harvey Weinstein’s wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, announced Tuesday night she is splitting from the embattled producer.
“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions,” she told PEOPLE. “I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”
Weinstein and Chapman got married in 2007 and have two children together: 7-year-old India Pearl and 4-year-old Dashiell Max Robert.
When news of Weinstein’s alleged sexual harassment first broke, Weinstein told the New York Post he had his wife’s support, saying, “She stands 100 percent behind me. Georgina and I have talked about this at length.”
