Harvey Weinstein Says He Offered 'Acting Jobs in Exchange for Sex' But Claims He Never Raped Anyone

By TheBlast Staff

12:15 PM PT — Weinstein's attorney now refutes the quotes in the interview and the author of the article is backtracking from the piece as well.

Harvey Weinstein is once again maintaining his innocence but does say he frequently traded sex for movie roles "but so did and still does everyone."

In a bizarre interview with a Greek journalist who just goes by the name Taki, Weinstein said he did not believe that Asia Argento — one of Weinstein's accusers who was dating Anthony Bourdain at the time of his death — was actually in an open relationship with the "Parts Unknown" star.

"Her friend [Rose] McGowan claimed that Asia and Anthony had an open relationship," Taki wrote. "It was obviously not true, says Harvey, but dead men tell no tales, so the girls made it up."

The interview only included one length quote from Harvey Weinstein, another attempt to defend himself against the myriad of sexual assault charges that has him facing life in prison:

You were born rich and privileged and you were handsome. I was born poor, ugly, Jewish and had to fight all my life to get somewhere. You got lotsa girls, no girl looked at me until I made it big in Hollywood. Yes, I did offer them acting jobs in exchange for sex, but so did and still does everyone. But I never, ever forced myself on a single woman.

Weinstein pleaded not guilty earlier this week to the additional charge of a forced sexual act, as well as two other counts of predatory sexual assault.
