Glenn Frey‘s will is currently nowhere to be found, but the legendary singer’s widow is trying to get the court to approve the copy she does have … even though it’s not the original.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Frey first filed his will in 2002 and then filed an amendment to the will in 2004 after the birth of his third son, Otis.

Frey’s widow, Cynthia, says in the documents that a financial management company was in possession of Frey’s will when he passed away on January 18, 2016.

But Cynthia claims after his passing, she switched from one financial management company to another and the new company has not yet been able to locate Frey’s will among the documents they received in the switch.

Cynthia has filed a copy of the will with the court and is asking them to validate that will in the event the original cannot be recovered.

A judge has yet to rule.
