Gerard Butler had a tough time talking about the wildfires that destroyed his Malibu home and left many others in ruins.
Butler spoke with a few photographers on Monday and said things "could have been worse" for him. He shared a photo on social media on Sunday showing the charred remains of his home behind him, captioning the photo, "Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating. Heartbreaking time across California."
The "300" star seemed to choke up a little bit as he went on to say he hasn't lost everything in the fires and plans to rebuild his home in the area.
Butler also urged people to donate to the relief efforts.
"My heart aches for all those who lost their homes and their lives in California," Butler wrote in a social media post on Monday.
"I was one of the lucky ones, my home was only partially destroyed. A lot of people lost everything and will have to rebuild from scratch. I am ok and so grateful for all of the well wishes. Please turn your support to those who need it most here, and throughout California."
He added, "There's a Go Fund Me to help people across the state affected by the fires. Please join me if you can."
