7:20 AM PT: Clooney’s rep tells The Blast, “George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital. He is recovering at home and will be fine.”

George Clooney is on the mend after a scooter accident in Sardinia landed him in the hospital.

According to Carabinieri officer Alberto Cicognani, Clooney was thrown over the top of his scooter Tuesday around 8:15 AM after the driver of a Mercedes failed to stop at a turn in the area of Olbia-Murta Maria.

According to photos taken on scene of the accident, Clooney can be seen sprawled out on the ground as emergency crews tend to his injuries.

Clooney was taken to the Giovanni Paolo II hospital via ambulance, and released after doctors checked him out. The actor told officials he was “fine,” and will reportedly be monitored by hospital staff as an outpatient for the next 20 days, CNN reports.

A local Italian outlet is reporting Clooney suffered “slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm,” but no fractured bones.

The accident won’t hinder Clooney from working on his mini-series, “Catch-22,” and will reportedly resume work on the production right away.

Police are currently investigating the accident, it’s unclear if the other driver knows they almost mowed down an American treasure.

Clooney loves riding his scooter around Italy, just the other week he was seen stopping to buy some charcuterie from a local merchant while out on a ride.
