The person or persons who projected “F**k Trump” on the side of the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta during last night’s college football national championship were not caught, but even if they were … they would likely not face any punishment.
A rep for the Atlanta Police Department tells The Blast that while they are aware of the incident, police “were unable to identify the responsible party last night and do not anticipate any arrests being made as a result of this incident.”
But even if they did find the perpetrator(s), it would be difficult to charge them.
“The Atlanta Police Department consulted with both MB Stadium leadership and the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office on possible charges,” the rep said. “While the message may understandably be offensive to some, there was no physical damage to the building and our ability to bring criminal charges would be very limited given current state and local statutes addressing vandalism and damage to property.”
The Atlanta Police also added that no arrests were made before the game during the chaos in the parking lot caused by the president’s presence.
