9:19 AM — According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President, Leron Gubler, they are working with police and intend to prosecute over the vandalism, which was caught on surveillance video. They tell The Blast, Trump's star will be "immediately" repaired.
"When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways than to vandalize a California State landmark," they said in a statement. "Our democracy is based on respect for the law. People can make a difference by voting and not destroying public property.”
Donald Trump has once again taken a hit in Hollywood after his star on the Walk of Fame was re-vandalized.
LAPD officers responded around 3:30 AM Wednesday morning after reports of a man ripping up Trump's star with a pickaxe. Shortly after, a man turned himself into the Beverly Hills Police Department and is currently being questioned by officers.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is in charge of maintaining and fixing the stars along Hollywood Blvd, and they've been busy the past couple of years. Trump's star has been the target of many attacks, including one guy who destroyed it with a sledgehammer.
Reconstruction has yet to begin ... and if they need any suggestions on funding the fix, just remember to pay with cash.
