Dick Cheney ‘Waterboard Kit’ back on eBay as Bids Reach $3K

The waterboard kit the former VP autographed during Sacha Baron Cohen‘s “Who Is America?” was briefly pulled off eBay after the company noticed an influx of “unusual bidding activity.”

The listing for Dick Cheney‘s autographed “military water bottle” was re-listed after eBay got in touch with “Colonel Erran Morad” to verify the legitimacy.

The auction site tells The Blast, “Due to unusual bidding activity and the seller being new to eBay, this listing was removed based on our risk models. We’ve been in contact with the seller to assist in re-listing the item if they so choose.”

As we previously reported, the listing originally went up Sunday ahead of Cheney’s episode airing on Showtime, and promised to give all proceeds from the sale of the autographed water jug to Amnesty International.

The listing went back up Monday night, and softened the auction name from “ORIGINAL WATER BOARD KIT SIGNED BY VICE-PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY!!” to “MILITARY WATER BOTTLE SIGNED BY VICE-PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY!!”

It also specifies that the auction is for charity, and now throws in a complimentary towel … and promises “Zero (0) scruples.”

There’s still two days left on the auction, and with 70 bids the price is currently at $3,000.

UPDATE

The item sold with a winning bid of $8,355!
