Alec Penix, who helps keeps former "Dancing With the Stars" pro Derek Hough looking buff is coming out with a book detailing his secrets on not only working out muscles, but the importance of taking care of the spiritual-self.
Celebrity trainer Penix is a master at shaping the bodies of his clients into masterpieces, and is revealing his method in his new book, "Seven Sundays: A Faith, Fitness, and Food Plan for Lasting Spiritual and Physical Change."
Penix tells The Blast the book is a 43-day journey with a different theme each week to keep the reader motivated and excited about getting healthy. He says most important is to "enjoy the journey," and "develop good habits that stick with you everyday." As Penix puts it, "Exercise is what I used to do to look good ... now it's what I do to feel good."
Penix, who is repped by publicist Jay D. Schwartz, earned his chops sculpting clients in Los Angeles, where he admits results are wanted extremely quickly, and says it's important to shape the mind and emotions along with the body, which is what his book stresses.
His methods speak for themselves, Derek Hough was seen out in L.A. earlier this week looking shredded, and extremely peaceful.
"Seven Sundays" comes out December 4th.
