Demi Lovato wasn't focused on the Super Bowl ... she was too busy dodging people who were throwing insults at her over her recent OD, to the point she has quit Twitter.
It all started when the "Sober" singer took to social media after finding out 21 Savage was picked up by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over an issue with his immigration status and the possibility he is actually British.
She posted a meme that read, "This how 21 Savage be writing his verses," showing someone using a feathered pen by candlelight.
“F**k Twitter,” Lovato wrote. “This is why I don’t tweet anymore. If you’re gonna come at me for making a joke, try coming at me with something original not involving drugs.”
Then Demi Lovato deactivated her Twitter account, but she didn't give up on IG, lashing out at Wale who reposted her original meme and wrote, "is somebody freedom funny ... I don’t get the joke."
"Wasn't laughing at anyone getting deported. I know that's not a joke," she responded. "Sorry if I offended anyone. But it's no excuse to laugh at someone's addiction let alone their OD."
Lovato added, "Lastly I wasn't making fun on anything having to do with deportation or even anything against him. I was laughing at who the f**k knew 21 was British? Literally no one. It doesn't go deeper than that."
As The Blast reported, 21 Savage was arrested in Atlanta but feels it's a “misunderstanding.” In a statement, an ICE spokesperson referred to the rapper as an “unlawfully present United Kingdom national.”
We’re told the rapper got on the radar of authorities following his 2014 conviction on felony drug charges.
