The band that headlined Demi Lovato's concert after she was forced to cancel spoke about the singer and the struggles of addiction at Thursday night's show.
"She cannot be here tonight," a member of the DJ trio, Cheat Codes, began, "Addiction is something that is very hard for anyone to go through and we just want to say we love you Demi, we appreciate you, we love you," he added before dedicating the group's hit song with Lovato, "Promises," to the singer.
Earlier this week, Live Nation announced Lovato's planned show was being reorganized following the singer's overdose and subsequent hospitalization.
Cheat Codes were added to the bill, replacing Lovato to headline the Atlantic City, New Jersey concert along with DJ Chris Devine and previously scheduled opening act, Lauv.
As The Blast reported, Lovato was transported to the hospital on Tuesday for a medical emergency. We’ve since learned that a nurse at the hospital told police she was doing a type of methamphetamine prior to her overdose.
