Cynthia Nixon lost her bid for the Democratic Party's nomination to be governor in NY by failing to secure the minimum 25% of votes to get listed on the ballot.
The "Sex and The City" star lost by a landslide to Michael Cuomo, who secured 95% of the people's votes. Had she secured at least a 25% share Nixon would have been automatically added to the September 13 election.
Nixon showed up to the convention Wednesday at Hofstra University, however Cuomo did not. All is not lost for the actress with political aspirations though, because she plans to collect thousands of signatures needed to force herself onto the ballot.
