Officials in the Cook County State's Attorney office received a big response after issuing a plea for alleged victims of R. Kelly, and are now working to determine if prosecutors have a case against the controversial singer.
A rep for the State's Attorney office tells The Blast they received calls after the press conference with Kim Foxx, and "We are in the process of reviewing and following up on these calls."
It's unclear how many alleged victims and people with information contacted prosecutors, but the passionate call to the public by Foxx went viral after she claimed the footage shown in "Surviving R. Kelly" was "sickening."
The Blast broke the story, the district attorney in Fulton County, GA is currently investigating the "Ignition" singer for the possibility of criminal charges. The probe was launched after the Lifetime docu-series aired, and the D.A. has spoken with at least one of Kelly's alleged victims.
