Conor McGregor’s Camp Canceled Fight Afterparty Over Security Concerns

Conor McGregor was not in the mood to party Saturday night after UFC 229, and it wasn’t entirely because he had just tapped out in front of millions of fight fans.

Sources connected to the party at Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas tell The Blast McGregor’s camp called nightclub staff and executives immediately after the chaos ensued at the end of the UFC event and pulled the plug on the MMA star’s party.

We’re told the reason given for the cancelation was for “credible threats” to McGregor’s safety, although no more specific details were given.

Immediately following McGregor’s loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov he found himself involved in another fight when members of Khabib’s entourage entered the Octagon and attacked him.

Khabib did not have a victory party either, but he did apologize for the incident and his behavior. For now, McGregor has said he will not press charges against the members of the Russian MMA star’s team who attacked him.

McGregor does want a rematch, and has already told fans he will be back, so at least he’ll get another shot at a big afterparty.
