Conor McGregor doesn’t plan on leaving Ireland anytime soon, especially with another baby is on the way, so if he’s going to be forced to sit for a deposition and get grilled, it’s going to be while he’s sipping on a nice pint of Guinness in Dublin.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, McGregor responded on July 2 to allegations he’s been avoiding a deposition in the case out of Las Vegas, where a security guard is suing the MMA star in the infamous can throwing incident during a UFC presser.
The Notorious explains he’s a resident of Dublin, Ireland and cannot be forced to attend a deposition in a foreign country. He notes that the cost of travel out to the United States, for something other than a paid appearance, would incur significant expenses that the 30-year-old has deemed “improper.”
In all honesty, travel expenses for the extremely wealthy fighter wouldn’t break the bank, and he did just make a quick trip to NYC to deal with a criminal case. However, this is a pretty great defense.
There’s another big reason McGregor might want to stay in Ireland, his longtime girlfriend Dee Devlin just announced she’s pregnant with the couple’s second child! They already have Conor, Jr. together, and on the star’s 30th birthday she dropped the news in a message, announcing “Happy 30th birthday babe! Thank you for being you! Love you to bits from me, Conor jr and the bump.”
McGregor’s dad also posted a message showing off a custom cake of his son’s luxury yacht. Sitting atop the fancy creation was Conor with his son, and his hand on Dee’s belly.
It’s unclear how far along Dee is with the baby, but the fighter is making it clear he’s not going to leave his family in Ireland unless there’s a ton of money involved … or he’s being criminally prosecuted for going haywire.
As we reported, William Pegg sued McGregor over the can tossing incident from 2016 during the UFC star’s press event with Nate Diaz.
Pegg also has been hounding McGregor for his financial records, which the star is refusing to turn over. According to the documents, he explains the foundation of the lawsuit is a shoulder bruise with less than $5,000 in medical expenses and no time missed from work.
In other words, don’t look for sympathy from a guy that gets punched in the face for a living.
Congratulations on the baby!
