Stand-Up Comic Attacked On Stage With His Own Mic Stand

Comedian Steve Brown got more than heckled while performing when a member of the audience jumped onstage and attacked the comic with his own mic stand and stool.

Brown was performing at The Comedy House in Columbia, South Carolina when the attack went down. According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Brown told officers he spotted the fan — ID’d only as “Marvin — in the audience and “staring into space.” Brown says when he asked the guy if he was ok, Marvin responded, “Don’t f**k with me, man.”

Brown says Marvin went to rush the stage, but was held back by family members and staff. Eventually, Brown told officers that Marvin broke free and rushed the stage and the alleged altercation occurred.

Brown was dodging and ducking the attacks, and eventually some people jumped in to help subdue the attacker.

Brown shared a video shortly after the attack, claiming it was unprovoked, and criticizing the comedy club for not having proper security.  He also showed an injury he received from the mic stand during the ordeal.
