Chris Cornell‘s widow has filed a lawsuit against his doctor, claiming he gave the rocker countless prescription drugs without even examining him.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Vicky Cornell claims Dr. Robert Koblin was negligent in prescribing Chris the anti-anxiety medication lorazepam, as well as other medications, from September 2015 until his death in 2o17.
Vicky says that Dr. Koblin prescribed 940 doses of lorazepam during that time period. But she claims he did not “conduct a medical examination of Mr. Cornell, perform any laboratory studies, obtain an interim history or do any type of clinical assessment of Mr. Cornell. He did not even physically see or speak to Mr. Cornell during this period.”
She claims that because Cornell had a history of substance, he was more susceptible to an increased risk of suicide.
Vicky is seeking unspecified damages.
Chris Cornell was found unconscious in his hotel room in Detroit on May 18, 2017. His death was ruled a suicide by hanging.
Vicky told police she spoke to Chris shortly before his body was discovered. She said he did not sound well and kept telling her, “I am just tired.”
He was 52 years old at the time of his death.
