Charlie Sheen is sharing a very special moment by revealing he is one year sober and staying on a path to recovery.
The "Hot Shots" actor posted a photo Tuesday of a one-year sober medallion. He exclaimed, "so, THIS happened yesterday!"
He added, "a fabulous moment, in my renewed journey." Sober medallions are a physical keepsake, for those dealing with addiction, to remember their milestones. They're typically handed out by AA recovery programs, though it's unclear if he's been in an official treatment program.
Sheen has famously battled addiction over the years, and it was brought to the spotlight during his public meltdown on "Two and a Half Men."
The actor has claimed he was sober for 11 years, but says he returned to drugs and alcohol to deal with his HIV diagnosis.
Congrats and good luck on the continued sobriety!
