One of the most famous YouTubers, Steve Cash, who shot to fame with his “Talking Kitty Cat” series, has died at the age of 40.
According to multiple reports, the YouTube star passed away after succumbing to injuries due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The YouTuber’s wife, Celia DeCosta Cash, confirmed the news on Facebook, posting, “This is so hard. I’m not even sure what to say, or for that matter, what to do. I just lost my best friend, my sidekick, my lover, my mentor, my absolute everything, this morning.”
Steve’s wife also confirmed he took his own life, adding “I’m so sad to say, my husband, Steve Cash took his own life this morning 4/16/2020. It hurts me to share this. Please understand, give the family time to grieve, but know that Steve is no longer in pain.”
Cash’s sister also commented on the devastating new writing on her Facebook page, “Rest In Peace my baby brother Steve Cash.”
The social media star was vocal about his struggle with mental health. Back in September, a person commented on one of his posts saying, “You’ve been so active on social media lately that at first, I thought you were hacked.” Cash responded to the fan, “Nah, just bipolar. I’m on a manic up right now. When I go back into depression I’ll vacate everything.”
The ‘Talking Kitty Cat’ videos were HUGE on YouTube, and Steve’s channel amassed over 770 Million views since joining back in 2007.
In the last two decades, Steve had collected 2.43 Million subscribers on his page. If you are not familiar with his videos, Steve created a hugely popular series where he added human voices to cats around the house, and they are hilarious.
