Xzibit has become one of the most popular meme themes on the internet, and while the hip-hop star has found new life as a viral oddity, he had no clue what the hell was going on when they first became popular.

In case you haven't been on the web for the past decade, memes are funny photos combined with text that adhere to a running joke and quickly become viral.

Xzibit became one of the first popular memes when people used the catch phrase, "Yo Dawg," combined with something ridiculous.

X was on 935 KDAY talking about the first time he saw himself in a meme, and "I didn't understand it ... like what the f*ck does that mean?!"

The rapper argues that he rarely says, "Yo dawg," and thought everyone was confusing him with Randy Jackson from American Idol.

In the end, Xzibit says he learned to embrace the viral jokes, but still believes that they were probably created by some "white guy."

As for his time starring on the popular MTV show, "Pimp My Ride," X makes it clear, "I didn't put sh*t in anyone's car."

Fun Fact: The photo for Xzibit's popular meme actually came from him doing press for the 2006 movie, "Gridiron Gang," and had nothing to do with "Pimp My Ride."
