Former WWE star, Shad Gaspard, is missing near a Los Angeles beach -- after being dragged under the water by a massive ocean riptide.

According to multiple reports, Gaspard was swimming with his 10-year-old son on Sunday afternoon near Marina Del Rey when they got caught in a severe riptide.

Witnesses say lifeguards jumped to save the group of swimmers, but only Gaspard's son was pulled from the water. At this point, Shad is still missing.

"We had one of our lifeguards go out to make a double rescue of a father and a son,' a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Dept Lifeguard Division told Daily Mail.

He continued, "The father, unfortunately, got pushed down by a wave as they were getting pulled out of the current. The lifeguard rescued and grabbed the boy, the son, and tried to grab the father as well."

Adding, "He ended up getting pushed down by a wave and we couldn't find him and we immediately started with our rescue boats, called in additional lifeguards to search that location of his dad."

Gaspard Directed Lifeguards To Save His 10-Year-Old Son

According to one report, lifeguards rushed into the ocean to save the two of them from the riptide, but Shad directed them to save his son first, which they did. Unfortunately, that's when he was hit by the wave and did not surface.

Early this morning, a massive rescue effort continues, and Shad's mother and wife are waiting on the beach for any word. "The mother and son have remained on the beach at the same location since yesterday. Neighbors have provided them with water and blankets and chairs," one report said.
