Kobe Bryant‘s widow addressed the love from Laker Nation on their first game back at Staples Center since her husband and daughter’s unexpected passing on Sunday, January 26. Shortly after the Los Angeles Laker’s heartbreaking tributes to Black Mamba and his 13-year-old daughter, Gigi, who passed away after their helicopter crashed and burst into flames along with 7 others, Vanessa Bryant took to social media to thank the millions of people around the world who have supported her family after this horrific tragedy.
While Vanessa Bryant and her three daughters were not at the game on Friday night, she posted a photo of the two empty seats the team left open with Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant’s jersey’s covering them. Beautiful flowers covered the seats too.
“There is no #24 without #2. ❤️#GirlDaddy #DaddysGirl #MyBabies ❤️❤️ #OurAngels,” Vanessa Bryant captioned the sweet post. Kobe Bryant’s wife also shared a photo of the pink skyline on her Instagram story and added a purple and yellow heart ahead of the team’s first game back at the stadium Kobe built. This comes just days after she first spoke out following Kobe Bryant and their teenage daughter Gigi’s passing.
On Wednesday, she broke her silence over their deaths. Expressing her heartbreak, Vanessa Bryant seemed hopeful for her family’s future. ”I’m not sure what our lives hold beyond today, and it’s impossible to imagine life without them. But we wake up each day, trying to keep pushing because Kobe, and our baby girl, Gigi, are shining on us to light the way.”Addressing the other families who lost loved ones during the helicopter crash, Vanessa Bryant added, “We are also devastated for the families who lost their loved ones on Sunday, and we share in their grief intimately.”
Saying she and her three daughters with Kobe Bryant are “completely devastated” over the loss of their family members, she added they are appreciative of everyone’s support. “My girls and I want to thank the millions of people who’ve shown support and love during this horrific time. Thank you for all the prayers. We definitely need them,” she wrote. “There aren’t enough words to describe our pain right now,” Vanessa Bryant continued. Saying the Bryant family “take comfort in knowing that Kobe and Gigi both knew that they were so deeply loved,” the wife of the proudest girl dad added, “We were so incredibly blessed to have them in our lives. I wish they were here with us forever.”
