Van Jones and his ex are just about to cross the finish line and close the door on their marriage for good.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Jones and Jana Carter filed their judgment package with the court. Once the judge signs off on the details, their divorce will become official.
As The Blast previously reported, Carter filed for divorce from the "Van Jones Show" host last September. She was seeking joint legal and physical custody of the couple's two children, Mattai and Cabral.
The couple wed in 2005 and separated last May.
After news of the split broke, Jones and Carter posed for a photo together, which Jones posted on his social media and captioned, "Divorce means the end of a marriage, not the end of a family. #FamilyForever."
Jones' divorce made news in April when he had a contentious exchange with Wendy Williams during an interview on her show.
Wendy decided to bring up the split and the fact that Jones was still wearing his wedding band. She said to Jones, "They are getting a divorce. The divorce is not finalized. You still wear your ring."
Jones shot back, referencing Wendy's own divorce filing just a few weeks earlier, saying, "You got something on your hand, too, so I ain’t talking about that."
Wendy was shocked by the response and quickly put an end to Jones' inquiry, telling him, "Excuse me. This side of the couch is for the asking of the questions, that side is for giving up the information."
Jones did eventually open up about the split, calling his ex "my best friend 20 years ago and she's my best friend today."
