Tom Hanks's son Chet Hanks is either really about that island life or he is Instagram's best troll since Tekashi 6ix9ine got locked up.

The 29-year-old rapper brushed off claims that he was culturally misappropriating the Jamaican culture after a clip of him speaking patois on the Golden Globe red carpet went viral. He shared a screenshot of an article about the video and expressed that he thought it was a shame that he made the news.

"Average citizens: damn this is scary I can’t believe we’re on the verge of WW3 let me check the news smh" Chet wrote in the caption of his post.

For those fairly new to social media, Chet is pulling off what is called a "multi-level troll" or, as we like to call it in the biz, "doubling down" because he knows it upsets people. Hence the second video of him speaking Patois.

Keep scrolling for both videos... trust us, you do not want to miss them.

Hanks did his best to trigger the internet a second time by sharing another video. He addresses the controversy while staying true to his new self. We would give you the best quotes but it seems a little wrong to type them out so you better just check out the vid yourself.

"RESPECT TO MI #ISLAND MASSIVE ?????????????????????????????????? RRRRRRRHHHHHHHHH," he wrote in the caption of his second Patois vid.

You gotta admit, his accent seems pretty dead-on so either he has been spending a lot of time "right near the beach, BOIIII" or he inherited his dad's acting chops.

We are sorry if his videos offended anyone but this series of events has kinda been the best drama on Instagram since when Tekashi 6xi9ine started IG beef with some heavy hitters in the streets and rap world.

We are also sorry for comparing Chet To 6ix9ine because CHET IS NO SNITCH but Tekashi was Instagram's #1 troll. Perhaps Chet is filling that spot now that the gram has been quite while Tekashi is still locked up.

Again, no disrespect to Chet but here are some similarities between them:

-both rappers

-both have been accused of cultural misappropriation

-both like to troll people online

-both are heavily tattooed

The whole drama started on Sunday when Chet got a little rowdy on the red carpet of the Golden Globes. While his dad gave a heartfelt speech, he delivered a memorable performance that night as well.

"BIG UP FIMI WHOL FAMILY SOON COM AT DI AWARDS NA SEEN ? ? ? CHUNE IN," he wrote in the caption of his red carpet video.

It may be a little offensive but let's just see how this plays out online.
