Hanks, Wilson Doing Alright

On Sunday night, actor Tom Hanks gave the world an update on how he and his wife, Rita Wilson, are doing these days. Last week we heard how both were diagnosed with coronavirus while Hanks was filming a movie in Australia.

Hanks says in a message that both of them are now improving.

It's true that other celebrities are also able to get tested without any issues, while everyday Americans have to wait days to get a test. But this is Tom Hanks. Remember the feeling when you heard he had coronavirus? Scary.

But since then, Hanks and Wilson have provided us with some encouraging updates while they stay in isolation. Popculture writes that Hanks posted a message on March 17, reporting that Wilson is a pro at playing Gin Rummy.

Where Is Home For You These Days?

Hanks also gave us a little pep talk in his latest message as we're all trying to stay hunkered down at home, or wherever you might be staying right now.

"Hey, folks. Two weeks after our first symptoms and we feel better. Sheltering in place works like this: You don't give it to anyone - You don't get it from anyone. Common sense, no?

Going to take awhile, but if we take care of each other, help where we can, and give up some comforts... this, too, shall pass. We can figure it out. Hanx."

Hanks and Wilson, both 63, first announced on March 11 how they were feeling, and the answer was "not great."

"Hello, folks. [Wilson] and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive."

Knowing that Hanks may pull through this is encouraging news, especially with so many horrible things going on in the world right now.

"One week after testing Positive, in self-isolation, the symptoms are much the same. No fever but the blahs. Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch," Hanks wrote.

Wilson also has provided the world with updates, writing: "Quarantine Stir Crazy."

Happy To Hear It

Fans are grateful to hear some good, positive updates.

"I just walked upstairs from watching you as Mr. Rogers, Thank you for making the movie and TY to the universe for having it front and center right now when we all need to be reminded of how simple heroics can be. Like loving ppl just the way they are. Or sheltering in place," said one fan.

"So pleased to hear that you’re both feeling better," commented somebody else. Take care of yourselves x," said another.
