1. Another Show Bites The Dust

Following in the footsteps of Tuca & Bertie, One Day At A Time, and The Santa Clarita Diet, Netflix has cancelled the experimental sci-fi show The OA.

Co-creator and star Brit Marling posted about the news on Instagram in an emotional post.

"Zal and I are deeply sad not to finish this story. The first time I heard the news I had a good cry. So did one of our executives at Netflix who has been with use since the early days when we were sketching out Hap’s basement on the floor of our production office. It’s been an intense journey for everyone who worked on and cared about this story."

2. Fans Are Devastated

While it wasn't one of Netflix's more popular shows (a victim to a lack of advertising), The OA had a small but passionate fan base that is absolutely devastated by the news. No resolution for the killer cliffhanger? Unbearable.

3. Starting A Petition

There is even an online petition growing complete with a hashtag: #SaveTheOA. While these petitions are a long shot, fans of Sense8, another heady Netflix sci-fi show that was cancelled after two seasons, convinced the streaming service to wrap up the series with a two-hour finale.

4. The Stars Are Appreciative

Even if the show is at an end, the stars aren't losing hope and are appreciative of the fans' passion. Jason Isaacs posted some behind the scenes footage following the sad news and urged fans to keep making noise online.

To the many obsessed and wonderful devotees who approach me all over the world to ask if and when we're carrying on the story: I'm in the same club as you - I think it's utterly brilliant, I'm dying to know what happens next and I'm waiting for the phone to ring. Don't ask me #AskNetflix!
