Former “The Chi” star Jason Mitchell is denying he knew he was driving around with a ton of ecstasy and marijuana.

According to reports, Mitchell is adamant his recent arrest wasn’t his fault. Mitchell’s agent, Dr. Glenn Toby, says the actor’s arrest was a big misunderstanding. He says the actor was driving around town in a friend’s rental car to find a better lockdown situation.

He claims the drugs and guns inside the vehicle, which led to his arrest, were not his. He claims to have been heading to his mother’s home with family members when he was pulled over.

The actor has had a rough couple of months after being accused of sexual harassment on set of “The Chi.” His costar, Tiffany Boone, complained to producers about his on-set behavior.

Mitchell was accused of similar behavior on the set of a Netflix film which he was fired from. In a matter of weeks, Mitchell was dropped by his talent agent and management.

Earlier this year, Comerica Bank sued Mitchell after he allegedly defaulted on a $60,000 loan. The bank says he stopped making payments the same month he was fired from “The Chi.”
