Marvel is finally breaking ground and giving their fans its first out LBGTQ hero.

Tessa Thompson teased the idea during a slew of big announcements from the studio on Saturday at Comic-Con.

With her character Valkyrie as the new King of Asghard, she told the audience what her first move as rule would be.

Thompson told the crowd, "As new King, she needs to find her new queen, so that'll be her first order of business, she has some ideas. I'll keep you posted."

After the big Hall H panel by Marvel Studios, producer Kevin Feige confirmed Thompson's news.

When asked by i09 if Valkyrie will be the first LGBTQ superhero, Feige said, "The answer is yes. How that impacts the story remains to be seen with that level of representation you’ll see across our films, not in just 'Thor 4.'"

Marvel has a shaky history on the subject, even specifically relating to Thompson's character. When she first appeared in "Thor: Ragnarok," Thompson said she believed her character was bisexual, just like the character is in the comics. But she said a scene that would have hinted at that was eventually cut from the film.

“In the canon, [Valkyrie] is bisexual. You see her with women and men, so that was my intention in playing her,” Thompson said in an interview earlier this year. “Obviously, at the forefront of most of these stories is not typically their romantic life. They have big stakes, like saving the world, so that tends to sort of trump.”
