Tekashi is changing his tune about his innocence and pleaded guilty to the nine charges for his participation in a violent street gang, and has been working with officials to turn on his former entourage.
According to an order in his criminal case, the hip-hop star entered a guilty plea to nine counts of charges, including crimes related to racketeering, drug trafficking and firearms.
Tekashi was facing life in prison for the multiple charges, but he was facing life but is now only at looking at 47 years, which will probably be reduced further due to his cooperation.
It had been rumored that Tekashi was fully cooperating, and turned on his entourage after they tried to kill him multiple times. The New York Daily News confirmed the rapper’s cooperation during a secret court hearing on January 23.
“The government has represented that Mr. Hernandez is cooperating against multiple violent people associated with the same criminal enterprise of which he admits being a member,” Judge Paul Engelmayer announced during the hearing.
Tekashi also apologized to the court, his family and his friends for being involved with the gang.
As we reported, several gang members from the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods were recently indicted for crimes related to beef with the rapper, including one former member who allegedly kidnapped Tekashi.
