According to reports, the 24-year-old 'Gooba' rapper and his security team were surrounded by the gunman in a parking lot of a high-rise apartment building where he had been staying.
Apparently, a Los Angeles gang member bragged about the robbery on social media -- posting, "Got em," before deleting the message, after people reminded him that he was self-snitching.
As we reported, Tekashi has been strolling around L.A loaded down with tons of cash -- even throwing it into the air in several locations to 'give back' to people in the community.
But, Tekashi's team is denying this incident ever occurred. Period.

Tekashi 6ix9ine and his security detail were photographed by the paparazzi walking down Rodeo drive in Beverly Hills when he was asked about the robbery incident.
Although the 'Punani' rapper didn't directly answer the question, a security guard following the rainbow rapper DENIED it had every happen.
The incident doesn't seem probable considering Tekashi is traveling with a BIG and heavily armed group of security guards, and even if they were 'ambushed' our guess is it would have ended is gunfire. Plus, nothing like that has been reported to law enforcement.
Plus, Tekashi was back on the streets Saturday, tossing more $100 bills in the air for several of L.A.'s homeless citizens.
Tekashi posted a video of himself in what appears to be downtown Los Angeles, handed out money to the less fortunate, and surrounded by his security team.
It seems if he was the victim of any kind of violent incident, he wouldn't be back on the streets holding wads of cash. "IN THE HOOD OF LOS ANGELES THIS IS MY CITY AND I LOVE IT I TAKE OF MY PEOPLE," he captioned the video.
In the video, Tekashi ends up throwing a bunch of $100 bills onto the ground -- and pandemonium ensues. A few dozen people can be seen fighting over the money that is laying on the ground.
Take a look at the video, and you be the judge!!
